NET WORKING-PARTERNER'S 

 

STNU has so far created up a networking strategy with other Ugandan based NGOs with their headquarters in Kawempe Division and a few in the boundaries of Kampala District both national and international one’s inline with the organization’s objectives and activities through partnerships like that of Uganda AID’S Commission (UAC) and one of its initiatives Young Empowered And Health (Y.E.A.H), Straight Talk Foundation Of Uganda, Nakasero Blood Bank-Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (under the Red Cross Society Uganda-Ministry of Health, Ministry of health (M.O.H)-HIV/AID’s and Nutrition sectors, Kawempe Health Centre, Komamboga Health Centre, Mentor Volunteers Uganda plus most of the clinics, health centers and third orphanage schools to mention but a few Plan international Uganda, DSW-Youth Truck under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development-Uganda (MGLSD), Private Education Development Network (P.E.D.N)

 

 

 

Uganda Aids Commission (U.A.C) 

 

This is a governmental organization that works in mainly HIV/AID’s and empowerment of networking with Community Based, Non governmental Organizations (NGO), Religious Organizations e.t.c and it has been able to provide the organization with Education Information and Communication Materials (I.E.C) including research and data reports for mainly capacity building on HIV/AID’s and indeed they have helped to improve the technical skills and knowledge in fighting the epidemic among the infected and affected persons. U.A.C also spearheads and periodically funds HIV/AID’s implementation programmes on grants from funding agencies and STNU has submitted only one (1) proposal in June-2008 of carrying out counseling and sensitization in Kawempe Division but has never got any fed back since the dates of submission but our partnership which began at the beginning of this (2008) is still going on  

 

Young Empowered And Health-Y.E.A.H 

 

STNU and Y.E.A.H and not in partnership but our networking falls much in the provision of I.E.C materials inform of books of ROCK POINT. The editions are published in English and Luganda languages for both the educated and illiterate youth among boys and girls ranging from Volume one (1) to three (3) i.e Rock point boys Volume 1, 2, 3 and Rock point Girls Volume 1, 2, 3 and after times of publications they are then sent to STNU through the organization’s postal address where they are received by the cordinator or field officer and then distributed to the youth including students of Primary, Secondary and High institutions from STNU’s office.  

 

Straight Talk Foundation Of Uganda 

 

The same applies to Straight Talk Foundation Of Uganda, its an international NGO having its Head offices in the ends of Kamwokya-Kampala District. It’s referred to be the Voice of the Adolescents and deals in publishing Education Information and communication materials (I.E.C’s) likes news papers, pens, T.shirts, catering for the orphans and vulnerable children and presenting/hosting different HIV/AID’s youth progremes on radios like Beat Fm, Suubi etc. STNU has only benefited from the provision of news papers produced every month by the mentioned organization which are received by STNU through the organization’s postal addresses and later picked by single individual youth including village dwellers and students of Primary, Secondary and High institutions from STNU’s office.  

 

Project for youth and children (PCY)-Youth Truck 

 

This is a P.C.Y vehicle/van working under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development-Uganda (MGLSD) but funded by D.S.W a Germany foundation for population and networks with STNU on youth and children programs in mostly counseling and sensitization through conducting HIV/AID’s, Entrepreneurship workshops seminars Film Shows and provision of I.E.C materials among others in the areas of Kawempe Division. STNU has organized several seminars, workshops and Film Shows in the fields of HIV/AID’s and Entrepreneurship to the youth in the areas of Katoogle Zone, Lufula Zone, Kazo to mention but a few.  

 

In addition the youth truck has provided technical skills and capacity building in proposal writing through trainings plus I.E.C materials inform of calendars and text books with updated data on HIV/AID’s among the youth and children.  

 

Ministry of Health-Uganda (M.O.H)-HIV/AID’s and Nutrition sectors 

 

HIV/AID’s SECTOR 

 

STNU is networking with the above sector in the Ministry of Health (M.O.H) and its assists the organization with provision of boxes of Condoms in combination with I.E.C materials e.g posters, brochures that are used during exercises of HIV/AID’s voluntary counseling and sensitizations to the infected and none affected groups at the main office (grouds) during workshops and seminars plus community outreach programs in the areas of Kampala District-Kawempe Division.  

 

NUTRITION SECTOR  

 

STNU are partners with this sector and connive in programs of sensitization and counseling on HIV/AD’s nutritional related problems and behaviors among the beneficiaries (infected and affected groups) 

 

NAKASERO BLOOD BANK-UGANDA BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICES 

 

The mention initiative is under Uganda Blood Transfusion Services which is also under the Ministry of Health (M.O.H) having linkages with the Red Cross Society foundation in Uganda and being one of our long time working partners in the fields of Donating-collection of blood. STNU interacts with this initiative by organizing and mobilizing Blood donation seminars in the communities of Kampala District-Kawempe Division and due to the organization’s performance and number participants at Vision grounds (STNU’s head office) have been turned into one the Blood Donating points and collection centres where the exercise takes place every after four (4) months making it three times (3) a year in the areas of Kawempe Division-Kampala District. 

 

KAWEMPE HEALTH and KOMAMBOGA HEALTH CENTRES, clinics  

 

STNU’s also works in hand with the above health centres and near by clinic by doing referrals for individuals in need of blood testing and results on their HIV/AID’s status (virus) then after Medicare and Drugs, more counseling and guidance are provided to the persons realized to be infected with the HIV/AID’s virus and the non infected are also provided with counseling on how to protect their lives from the virus.

 

CENTER FOR CHILD ADVOCACY AND LIFE PLANNING formerly known as MENTOR VOLUNTEERS UGANDA  

 

STNU has worked with center for child advocacy and life planning-mentor volunteers Uganda a Nansana community based organization well known in Uganda as one of the spear leaders of in the lines of improving the health of orphans and vulnerable children. Both organizations are as of current intact in sharing ideas and trying to set up new measures of overcoming the criminal situations among the HIV/AID’s infected and none infected orphans and vulnerables through provision of basic needs.  

 

PRIVATE EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT NETWORK (P.E.D.N) 

 

Since STNU’s activities include among promoting income generating activities the organization is networking with P.E.D.N whose goals is eradicating poverty through improvement of entrepreneurship skills and knowledge among the house holds (citizens) STNU has been organizing entrepreneurship seminars and workshops for the purpose of brain storming and provision of modern knowledge and business management skills to the unemployed, low income earners and small business owners in the communities of Kampala-Kawempe Division. 

 

ORPHANAGE SCHOOLS 

 

Inline with helping Orphans and vulnerable children STNU is networking with more than six (6) different third world orphanage schools in Kawempe Division including African Child, Linnet, Aunti Habiba, Oxford plus Little Stars Primary and Nursery Schools etc where it carters for over 150 orphans and vulnerable children with the highest class of vulnerability and some are infected with HIV/AID’s this is through providing scholastic material assistance like books, pens, pencils, color pencils, brooms, sets, toilet papers among others. These items are donated to the orphans and vulnerable children alongside their respective guardians in presence of their Head Masters/Mistresses at the beginning of every term in a year that’s from first (1st) to third (3rd) term at their schools or STNU head offices Others which haven’t approved there collaboration are as follows

 

Serve The Needy-Uganda in combination with the above Ngo’s, membership contributions, friends and well-wishers with the spirit of charity has been able to do a gorgeous, anonymous, spectacular, fabulous work in changing the lives of people in Kampala, Kawempe Bwaise lufula zone and the whole of Uganda at large.  

 

Although the funding conditions have been unfavourable, the organization has managed to approach some successfulness and looking forward to register more than lately achieved. STNU hopes to continue implementing, innovating till accomplishment of the needs for the Unsatisfied Groups as time goes.  

 

Therefore STNU calls for your support and welcomes new partners willing to networking with the organization both National and International Volunteers, Government and Non Governmental Organizations (NGO’s), Community Based Organizations (CBO’s), Faith Based Organizations (FBO’s) , projects plus the rest of community initiatives ready and working inline with our objectives that’s to say HIV/AID’s counseling and sensitization, Helping the Vulnerable children, Promoting of health programs in the fields of Sanitation, Hygiene and Nutrition, Promoting Income generating activities etc as it approaches its Goals, Mission and Vision.
